This time of year, a lot of the country is pretty darn cold. This is one time where Arizona truly shines: it\u2019s amazing outside! Maeve and Joe love getting outside, so the cool weather was the perfect chance for an outdoor engagement shoot over at South Mountain<\/a>. The diverse landscape, from desert vistas to plains surrounded by autumn-colored trees, made for some adorable shots of these two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their first date was adorable, too. For some people, escape rooms seem like they\u2019d be stressful. For others–like Maeve and Joe–they\u2019re a perfect mix of problem-solving, riddles, and spending time together. Having a goal in mind while passing the time is a great way to learn someone new! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was just one problem. See, if you haven\u2019t been to an escape room before, you might not realize that each room has an intended size. You can get away with smaller groups, but if you don\u2019t have the full number of people with you, most places will combine groups to make sure everyone has a chance at the fun. That\u2019s what happened to Maeve and Joe: they shared the escape room with a 10-year-old\u2019s birthday party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Really, though, they had a blast. They didn\u2019t escape, but trying to solve the riddles made them work together, and having children around forced them to think in ways they might not have otherwise. (Plus, it\u2019s a funny story, we think.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The escape room worked to bring them together, and as you might guess, they\u2019ve stayed together since. When Joe proposed, he took Maeve to their favorite hiking spot. It seemed like a normal excursion, a chance to stretch their legs\u2026 or so Joe thought. Maeve secretly knew it was coming, or at least suspected it. Being with someone you love for so long, you get to know their little tells when they think they\u2019re being sneaky, and Maeve realized there would only be one reason Joe was so shifty: a proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Maeve didn\u2019t <\/em>know is that Joe requested the presence of their closest friends and family know. Can you imagine having your loved ones with you to celebrate such a fantastic occasion? These two lovebirds snuck a few solo moments, of course, but Joe\u2019s sweet and thoughtful engagement surprise was the stuff that everlasting memories are made from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re sure Maeve and Joe have a lot of those ahead of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congrats, you two! We can\u2019t wait for your wedding!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
