Some couples choose their wedding venues with an eye toward the future, picking gorgeous places that hold the promise of happiness. Others, like Kelly and Kyle, look to important places and themes from their past as a foundation for their love. Phoenix’s lovely South Mountain brings back memories of when Kyle proposed.
It actually took him longer than he intended — Cathedral Rock in Sedona isn’t exactly an easy hike, and he wanted to be able to keep up with Kelly so he could find the perfect spot to pop the question! The desert landscape at South Mountain seemed like the perfect place to think back to that day, and it made for an amazing ceremony.
Before making their way over to South Mountain, Kelly and her sisters took some time during hair and makeup to really take everything in. Kelly was getting married! Such a special moment needed to be savored, though they got some fun in with some adorable matching PJ photos.
Meanwhile, Kyle and his brothers got all their final touches done, careful to stay away from the ladies until it was the right time. They had plenty of fun themselves, joking about an old photo of Kyle along with teasing each other about custom socks that even their dad was wearing. With as much joy as Kelly’s and Kyle’s parties had, we knew this wedding was sure to stun.
And stun it did, from the moment Kelly and Kyle had their first look. We managed to find the perfect place for it, just down the way from the ceremony spot, giving these two time to take in their love in the middle of nature. They said their vows lit by the glowing sun, with their guests and the majestic saguaros as witnesses. We’re pretty sure their love shined even brighter than the sunlight itself!
Once the vows were spoken and they took the step into marriage, it was time for the reception! Kelly and Kyle led everyone to the Ocotillo restaurant, where banquet tables and palo verde trees lit with magical bistro lights awaited for an intimate dinner.
Watching these two mingle with their guests during cocktail hour and even make time to head for the photo booth, it couldn’t have been clearer that Kelly and Kyle have something special. They know how to have a great time, too. After the heartfelt speeches, after the amazing dinner, it was time to snag a cocktail and hit the dance floor! They seemed ready to go all night just to enjoy being with each other and with their loved ones.
That’s what made things feel so special, we think. One moment stuck out most, one that really outlines the love that Kelly and Kyle share. During dinner, during speeches, one of Kyle’s brothers asked Kyle to tell him something he loves about his relationship. Kyle’s response? “I get to have a sleepover every night with my best friend!”
It’s pretty darn obvious it’s true.
